Our Mission
At Growjo Ninja Arts, we are dedicated to teaching authentic Ninpo. This ancient art includes: Jujitsu, Karate, Modern Self Defense and Meditation. All ages and orientations are welcome to come and train according to their personal goals and physical abilities.
Our History
Founded in 2024, Growjo Ninja Arts seeks to perpetuate the amazing techniques, philosophy and wisdom Sensei (head instructor) Jason Michael Mabry has learned and developed over nearly 30 years of practice and study. This includes not only 5 different schools of Japanese Martial Arts, but Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Tibetan Meditation. Growjo offers not only traditional study and training, but also modern and updated approaches to self defense in the real world. You will not find a more versatile or spiritual martial arts school!!
Lineages of Growjo
The Mother Art that Growjo teaches is Genbukan Ninpo Bugei (warrior arts). Founded by Grand Master Shoto Tanemura of Tokyo Japan, Sensei Jason Michael Mabry studied under Chadwick Minge, one of the first Western Masters of Ninpo. Sensei Jason Michael Mabry received degreed ranking in all 5 arts of Ninpo which are: Asayama Ichiden Ryu Jujitsu; Takage Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu; Kukishin Ryu Dakenjitsu; Koto Ryu Koppojitsu; Gyoko Ryu Koshijitsu. These styles include grappling, throwing, bone breaking, pressure points, joint manipulation, restraints, etc. and including defense against weapons. On the spiritual side, Yang and Chen style Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Vajrayana Buddhist Meditations are offered.
